Toyota has launched the 2026 GRMN Corolla, a limited-production, high-performance variant that represents the pinnacle of the current GR Corolla lineup. Building on lessons from hydrogen-powered race testing, the GRMN features a tuned version of the 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, now producing 302 pound-feet of torque—up from 295—with improved midrange delivery and sustained cooling thanks to an intercooler spray system. The car also sheds 66 pounds compared to the standard GR Corolla, primarily by removing the rear seats, a design choice inspired by the track-focused Morizo Edition.

The GRMN Corolla is equipped with performance-oriented upgrades including a five-way adjustable rear wing, front fender ducts, and wider 245/40 ZR18 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires mounted on matte bronze forged wheels. Inside, the cabin features semi-bucket seats in North America and full bucket seats in Japan and Australia, with carbon fiber trim and Alumite Red accents on the door trim and shift knob. Suspension improvements include new monotube shock absorbers, while the all-wheel-drive and electric power steering systems have been refined for sharper track response.

Targeted at performance enthusiasts, the GRMN Corolla will be sold primarily in Japan, North America, and Australia. While pricing hasn't been announced, it will carry a significant premium over the GR Corolla’s $41,415 starting price. Production numbers remain unconfirmed, but a serial-number plate on the shifter suggests fewer than 1,000 units may be built. This model marks a likely endpoint for current-generation GR Corolla variants, as Toyota prepares for future models including a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and next-generation platform.
