On May 14, RM dined incognito at Kumako Ramen in San Jose’s Japantown, where 17-year-old server and lifelong ARMY Audrey Cruz recognized him mid-shift. Though flustered, she kept her composure, serving RM and his friends shio ramen and gyoza — even correcting a mistaken order of katsu curry ramen that the group happily ate anyway.

Meanwhile, the band developed a strong connection with Vesta, a family-owned pizzeria in Redwood City. BTS first visited on May 11, ordering a wide spread of pizzas, small plates, and desserts. They returned multiple times, including during a Tuesday night livestream after their final show. Co-owner Courtney Borrone said the team held off on posting about the visits, hoping they’d come back — a hope that paid off. The most-ordered items were the sausage and honey pizza, pepperoni pizza, and cheesecake and bread pudding.

The visits became a heartfelt moment for both the restaurant staff and fans. Borrone and her family celebrated by buying last-minute tickets to the final concert. For a small business far from celebrity hotspots, the repeated visits from the world’s biggest K-pop act became a once-in-a-lifetime endorsement — not from marketing, but from genuine taste.
