This marks a shift from recent entries, which included high-profile and often surreal crossovers like Nicki Minaj, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and characters from The Boys.

The studio explicitly ruled out skins featuring Lady Gaga, Omni-Man, Beavis and Butt-Head, Teletubbies, and SpongeBob SquarePants. This stance follows criticism over increasingly commercialized and tonally inconsistent collaborations in the franchise. While Treyarch previously promised 'things that make sense' for Black Ops 7, the rollout still included questionable additions, raising skepticism about long-term consistency.
