Apple unveiled a major update to Siri with iOS 27, introducing a standalone app that appears directly on the iPhone's Home Screen. This marks the first time Siri has been available as a dedicated app, offering users a persistent interface to view past conversations and start new ones. The new Siri app is deeply integrated with Apple Intelligence, giving it access to broad knowledge, on-screen recognition, and personal context from messages, emails, and photos. Users can also upload files and images for analysis, making Siri more functional than ever. However, this advanced functionality is limited to newer hardware.

Only iPhone models with Apple Intelligence support can run the new Siri app. This includes the iPhone 15 Pro and all newer devices, such as the iPhone 16 and 17 series. Older iPhones will not receive the app, highlighting Apple's push toward AI-powered features on capable hardware. The shift signals a broader move toward on-device intelligence across the ecosystem.
