Mexican authorities have captured Isai 'N,' a nephew of imprisoned Sinaloa cartel leader Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán, during a military raid in Nogales, Sonora. The operation, led by Mexico’s Security and Citizen Protection Secretary Omar H. García Harfuch, also uncovered a major weapons and drug seizure in Tapachula, Chiapas—687 kilograms of cocaine, 151 firearms, 363 magazines, and 18 grenades. The suspect is wanted in the United States and may face extradition, officials said.

This arrest is part of an ongoing effort by Mexican and U.S. authorities to dismantle the Sinaloa Cartel’s leadership amid rising internal violence and power struggles. Though El Chapo is serving a life sentence in the U.S. following his 2019 conviction, the cartel he co-founded with Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada remains one of the most powerful drug trafficking organizations in the world.
