The update adds Dutch and Russian language support for accessibility features, including text-to-speech and speech-to-text during GameChat. These changes aim to improve inclusivity for non-English speakers and players with visual or hearing needs.

While this patch focuses on language expansion and system stability, it follows a broader March 2026 update (version 22.0.0) that introduced several quality-of-life improvements. Those included the ability to add private notes to friends, enhanced GameChat functionality, storage breakdown by data type, and the new Handheld Mode Boost for select games. Some features require updated versions of the Nintendo Switch and Parental Controls apps.

The update reflects Nintendo’s ongoing effort to refine the Switch 2 experience post-launch. No new hardware changes were included, and the update was automatically delivered to all Switch 2 consoles. Future updates are expected to continue focusing on stability, accessibility, and social features.
